Best Physique for Volleyball Player

I am a competitive volleyball player with a minor weight problem. I'm not as muscular or slim as I want to be. In volleyball, you need to be able to react and move fast, but also be able to slam a ball pretty hard. I play back row (because I'm to short to block or hit) and I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of physique I should work towards? Whether it be more cardio and less strength training for a more slim physique or more strength training for a more muscular build. I need advice so I can work towards getting the body I want and becoming a better volleyball player.
