Having trouble hitting calorie goal

diary is public. My biggest question is will this eventually crash or stall. I'm losing every day some more then others. I just started a cardio workout daily and plan to add some cycling when the weather breaks. My problem is I just can't really eat that many calories. Will there be long term effects of running a deficit like this?

Eat more calorie dense foods? Like, instead of low fat packaged chicken, just eat regular chicken. Etc...

I also for medical reasons(thyroid) have to eat a gluten free diet. High fat foods also seem to have a negative effect as well.

Well, with 90 pounds to go (according to your ticker) you might be able to run a larger deficit than someone with less fat stores. But, VLCDs like this should only be done under the supervision of a doctor or medical team. Yes, you're likely to burn out. You're also likely to be deficient in vitamins and minerals (things like calcium, iron, potassium, etc that your body needs). Your protein is super low, which is going to affect muscle retention. And just in general you're looking at problems later down the road.

Did you honestly not eat above 500 calories for most of February? It's possible you're eating more than you realize if your logging habits are lax.

Why can't you eat "that many" calories? If you have a medical or psychological condition stopping you, then you need to see professional help. If not, eat larger meals, include a snack or two, and load up on calorie dense foods.

This is a generic list and it's definitely not comprehensive, but anything here can be included in a balanced diet (as long as there are no allergies, medical conditions, obviously):
    avocado
    cheese
    full fat dairy
    Greek yogurt
    ice cream
peanut butter (or other nut butters)
    dark chocolate
less lean cuts of meat (including beef, pork, sausage, etc.)
    seeds (chia, flax, sunflower, etc.)
    nuts
    olive oil
    coconut oil
    butter
    beans and lentils
    protein shakes, bars, and smoothies
    hummus
    beef jerky
    cornbread
    tuna
    full calorie condiments
    full calorie sauces & dressings
    sour cream
    guacamole
    whole grain pasta
    rice
    bacon
    whole eggs
    quinoa
    fruit and fruit juices
    pretzels
    bananas
    scones
muffins (bran, blueberry, banana nut, etc.)
potatoes (sweet, red, gold, purple, white, etc.)
dried fruit (raisins, apricots, plums, dates, etc.)
    granola
    coconut
    salmon
    edamame
    honey
    molasses

I just came off my first round of hcg like diet but without the hormones. I did honestly only do 500 day for 45 days and just upped it to what mfp recommends. I do take a daily vitamin as well. I had to really change my diet when my thyroid for lack of a better term broke. I kept a list of foods that affect me badly which is mostly high fat and some dairy and of course gluten based. After coming of that I'm just not hungry. I do drink quite a bit of green tea which is known to be appetite suppressing. I measure everything there is no guessing when I do my logging. The 90lbs is what I should be for my height. I do realize that it might not even be possible.

I agree with @diannethegeek‌ ... Also, how were you able to set your calorie goal to 500? I know there was a glitch happening and that should NOT have been what your goal should have been.

I'm also going to ask a question and I don't mean to sound rude. I have 85 lbs to lose and I can easily eat WAY above what my calorie intake should be to lose weight. How is it that you need to lose 90 lbs but are finding it difficult to reach a calorie intake of less than 1500 calories? I understand you have some restrictions due to health conditions but even so it seems that there are quite a bit of options that will help you reach your calorie goal.

EDIT - I just read your reply. I'm not familiar with the effects of green tea and suppressing appetite. Perhaps you should consult with your doctor and a registered dietician.

Was your HCG-type diet medically supervised? Has your doctor given you any help with your thyroid and weight loss? Can you ask for a referral to a dietitian who could help you wade through some of your allergies and recommend a healthier food plan for you? There's a lot going on with your medical history that most of us here won't be qualified to comment on, so if you have access to professional advice it might be the best route for you.

Thanks for everyones help and comments. I'm really not impressed with my metabolic doctor these days but he was not on board with any of the it. I tried it as a last ditch effort and I did lose some weight. Guess i'll look into a dietitian in the future. Thanks

hey there. hcg is a very unhealthy diet, i hope u can switch from that to a healthy eating plan. i can see why ur dr would not be on board with it. being gluten free doesnt have to be such a big issue. many stores carry gluten free pretty much everything. is ur stomach upset from high fats.....or is it saturated fats? not all high fat is bad. olive oil salmon avocado and nuts are all high fat......do those effect u or do u mean more deep fried fat. i hope u can find a healthy balance. fast weight loss is rarely long term weight loss

I have to eat extremely lean meats thats why in my diary there is a lot of deer meat being used. The fat thing is hit or miss for me mostly out of fear we make everything here so the prepackaged stuff is usually not a option. Lucky for me pb doesn't bother me so i lean on it heavily for protein as of late (and calories). Not all foods cause stomach issues for me some of the cause what i call brain fog issues due to inflammation. The good news is I only missed it by 10 calories today.
