Squats or lunges?

Squats. I had knee surgery a couple of years ago. I have worked back up to heavy ATG squats, but for some reason, lunges make me nervous, like I'm going to mess up a knee! Super silly especially considering that lunges were a prescribed rehab exercise. It's a strange bit of insecurity. I should probably suck it up a do some once in awhile.0
