Soups and stews. Salads. Dressings based on vinaigrette instead of cream based.
Stay away from the deep fat fryer.0

Why do you want to reduce intake of saturated fat? Does it make you go over your calorie goal? Just eat smaller portions.0

Saturated fat is not bad for you.0

Only Trans Fats are (hydrogenated and partially-hydrogenated oils).0

Saturated fats are the healthiest fats to consume. I highly recommend the book "The Big Fat Surprise" by Nina Teicholz if you are interested in learning why.0

Tonight as I was looking through my nutrition numbers for the day I was shocked to see a big red -10 beside my monounsaturated fat. I discovered it was from the raw almonds I had eaten after dinner yet, by my nutritional goal which is zero, this seemed like I had done something bad. I did some reading after and everything says these fats can be good for you, I mean it was just plain old boring almonds! Should I be avoiding these types of fat?0

Saturated fats are best, followed my monounsaturated. Polyunsaturated are generally bad, trans fats (except the naturally occurring trace amounts) are bad. We do need some omega 3 and omega 6 polyunsaturated fats, but most people eat way too much omega 6 which is inflammatory.0

LOL, no, almonds are one of the healthiest things you can eat! Not all the numbers on MFP's nutrition page are "max" values. Do some research before worrying about any "red" number other than calories.0

Most of the oil for deep frying today is unsaturated fat, ironically not as healthy as putting saturated fat in the deep fryer.0

The only thing you should worry about are trans fat imo. Everything else is fine.0

Exactly...only tallow or lard for my deep fried chicken wings!0

One of my staple, hearty meals is sweet potatoes with beans and steamed veges.
As you can see, I like to keep cooking simple. If you want something more complex, you can find a ton of tasty recipes on drmcdougall.com. Every recipe on that site will be very low in saturated fat.0
