I have been running for close to 3 years now. It is my primary form of excersise and I very much and grown to enjoy my runs. I have ran this distance plus on many occasions but this is my first officially timed half marathon. My time was 1:49:00.
I started running due to alot of stress I had going on in my life I was on high blood pressure meds, cholosteral meds and anti-depressent meds on top of all this I was having marraige issues.
Running turned out to be my savior it allowed me to focus on myself for at least a bit each day and I believe was instrumental in saving my marriage. Today I take no meds and I have lost about 80lbs and I can run faster than I did when I got out of the military and overall health I am in better condition now at 45 then I was at 21 and in the US Army.
My marriage is betther than it has ever been. The only before and after pics I really have are on my profile and I have been doing some body reisistance stuff I can do 10 full unassisted underhand pullups just hit this goal the other day my next one is 20 unassisted pull ups. My current running goal is to maintain my 7:30 pace for 8 miles I currently can maintain that pace for 4 miles.
I am not real active on the forums but I read others Q and A alot and have gotton alot of usefull information from everyone.
