I am 66 years old and am 164 cms in height can you please tell me if there is anything on this site that would give me what my weight should be or to accurately assess it. The weight showing up when I go into the reports indicates I should be 58 - 68 kg - I have never been that weight in my adult life so can you help?

Depends on many factors, and those guidelines are just based on averages. If you have more muscle mass than average, you'll be over the 'should be' weight, for example.

Well...everyone carries their weight differently, has different body goals, etc so it's hard to nail down an exact figure. But I'd say that range is a good starting point.

They are all just generalizations. You need to get to where you're happy.

You are about 5'4" and the suggested range you're quoting is 128-150. That sounds reasonable to me. I started out by aiming for the high end of what is considered "normal" on the BMI scale. You will read many people who talk about how BMI is not meant for individuals and there are many outliers, etc. However, I was not in an outlier population (for example, I am average in height and I am not heavily muscled) so that top number was a reasonable first goal. Once I hit that number, I determined that I wanted to lose more. You may do that or you may decide that is a good weight or, who knows, you might decide to gain a few pounds. Just look at it as a general guideline.

I wouldn't worry so much about the ultimate goal, but just start losing and see how you look and feel and get an estimated body fat percentage if you want. You'll be able to figure it out--I'm almost to goal and I'm not 100% sure where I'll end up, but I'm confident I'll know it when I get there and generally happy to just keep improving my fitness.
