When recording your protein in your diary is it before or after cooking weight?

typically before, although there are MFP-official entries for cooked portions too you just have to be diligent in selecting the right one. (MFP official entries are the ones in the database with no *asterisk in front of them, if you didn't know). I tend to weigh my portions raw, but if someone else has done the cooking or if I've eaten out, for example, I'll use the cooked entry because I have no way to know how much it shrunk in the cooking process.
