Weight not moving =-/

I seem to be seriously struggling to lose weight.
Last year (August - September) I lost 25 pounds. It entailed eating 1200 calories a day and working out for an average of 10 hours a week, cardio and strength training.
Unfortunately, I quickly gained it back, plus 20, when I quick working out post-move. I have lost 10, but the scale is at a stalemate. I am also obsessively weighing (multiple times a day) which I need to stop, because it's driving me batty.
I've been weighing my food, which seems like it will help. However, I am in a position where exercise isn't happening right now. Still, because I am obese, I feel like I should be losing weight even without exercise.
I've posted something quite similar before. I just feel discouraged by lack of progress. I'd be happy with half a pound-- just SOMETHING in the direction of negative.

What are your stats? How long has it been since you lost weight? Have you picked an appropriate activity level for your daily burn (sedentary vs lightly active)? And can you open your diary?0

Have you been to the doctor to check and see if you have PCOS or thyroid issues?0

First things first, you need to eat in a deficit but not necessarily just 1200 calories. You're right that you don't have to have exercise to lose weight, just eat less than you burn in a day. Use this calculator to estimate how much you burn and thus how much you should eat per day: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/
Take it slow, make it sustainable. Don't try to push yourself too much at the beginning, try to ease yourself into successful weight loss. Maybe try lowering your calories in increments. For instance, take 200 calories off per week until you get down to what you need to eat to lose weight.
Also, along the same lines of taking it slow, make sure you weight loss goal is sustainable at first. Maybe try to lose a pound per week to ensure that your weight loss will be at a good rate for your body.0 -

I am 5'11, 300 pounds. My goal at the moment is to lose 100. I have it set as Lightly Active I believe, since I have kids, but I do work a desk job. I boosted up from 1200 calories about a week ago, so I'm not so hungry all the time. Lately I have trouble staying IN the 1600 calories I'm allowing, so I think that's an improvement. It's just frustrating the heck out of me!
Diary is open for the time being

I do have PCOS, but I don't want that to be my "excuse". I also just started birth control about 6 weeks ago. 3 weeks ago I randomly gained 5lb in a week, and I can't get that 5lb off.
I am not treated for PCOS, such as with metformin or something like that. It's never had too much effect, other than on my weight and my cycles.

I should have specified-- about a week ago I upped my calories, so I'm not so hungry all the time. I'm eating around 1600 right now, which feels more sustainable. I've never been one to EAT much-- I've been one to DRINK my calories, which I've stopped completely.
I just want to lose something at all. It's been a few weeks now, and it's driving me nuts. I know it will be slow-- losing 100lbs has to be, right?0 -
Haha, yeah, I had a problem with drinking calories for a while too but I switched to diet soda (before anybody says anything, I don't care how unhealthy diet soda may or may not be). But once you cut out the liquid calories, it should be easier for you to stay within your calories.
Try reading these threads and see if they help you at all. They've always been the most helpful for me

Yes... I was drinking close to 2k calories a day. And this is why I'm fat, people.
I've cut all that out. I do unsweetened (or stevia) herbal tea and water all day, one diet soda with dinner most days. That's been a huge help. I'm also generally more conscious of things like portion size than I ever have been.
I've actually read both of those posts a couple of times, and they don't seem to "click" with me. The biggest issue, I think, is the whole "20% from TDEE" thing. That's a LOT of calories. I don't see how I could possibly lose weight on that.

It might help if you get treatment for it, since it can effect weight loss. I'm not saying use it as an excuse, but use your knowledge about it to your advantage.
I wish we could search for groups, because I know there is one on MFP for women with PCOS and I'm sure you could find some helpful tips there.

Here's one-

(seems to be some talk about low carb helping with weight loss)
and

Well, if you consider that your TDEE is what you burn per day with exercise, you would maintain your weight if you were to eat all of those calories. If you cut out 20%, that creates a deficit which is what will help you lose weight. Just make sure you're accurately logging the calories you burn as well as the ones you're eating0

I hate even defining myself that way.
Especially with the show that recently aired, "My Big Fat Fabulous Life". This girl uses PCOS, in my opinion, as a complete excuse to justify her weight, and eats seriously unhealthy food, then cycles back around to blaming the PCOS for weight loss difficulty.
But yes, I may need treatment again. That being said, even without treatment, I don't understand why my body seems to like the weight it's at so much. I sure as hell don't!0 -

So fat2fit.com is saying (BMR), if sedentary, to eat around 1700 calories a day. I eat about 1600, so we can say I'm hitting that target. Conversely, if I define myself as lightly active (hard to tell... lol), it says 2400-- which I'm obviously not hitting.

Regardless of whether you want to label yourself as a woman with PCOS it is your reality. You need to get medical treatment for it.
You make a good point. =/
