Hi to everyone on MyFitnessPal,

I'm a 41 year old mum who has struggled with being a closet eater for a long time. I want to finally take control of my life and learn to enjoy food and being healthy without the guilt. I would love to make some new friends along the way & share my journey with yours.

I'm new to MFP but am loving it already - I already feel so positive about a new me and I look forward to reading about your journeys and supporting each other along the way.

Hugs to all x

im a closet eater. or was. but really i think i always will be one. i think i always was one. i use to sneak food when i was little and i remember saving money to go to the store to get cookie dough or bags of chips. now i use to love when i would have the house to myself so i can eat everything that i want. i can be so good when i am around people. and recently my significant other suggest me going to the doctor because i hadnt lost any weight in 3 weeks after my healthy eating. but what they didnt know was i was stopping at mcdonalds or getting all sorts of snacks and eating in my car. as of recent i have been more honest with myself and my significant other. its hard sometimes! but ive done it in the past. a few years ago i lost 50 lbs! so i know i can do it, and you can too!!! i would love to help any other food addicts.

I was a closet eater also and kinda still am. I started my life style change at 202 lbs and I'm 135 now. So I've managed to control it somewhat :-) I would be out with friends and family and they'd all go for cakes and ice cream and I'd say no thanks. But then when I was home and alone, I would easily eat a whole cake and gallon of ice cream by myself. But would never eat that much in front of others. When I started weighing my foods with a scale, I started to realize how much I was actually consuming. That really helped me when I could see the numbers. After a while, I learned portion control and moderation so I was able to still eat the foods I loved, but in smaller portions. Best of luckto you! You can do this!
