I have been using a food scale religiously to prepare meals right down to the last gram. I have found this very successful. Any one else?

I'd say most of us here use a food scale0

Would hope so ! A few of my friends believe its a little "over the top". I love my food scale and don't know how I lived without it before!!!0

Everyone logging should be using a food scale imo0

Yes I use mine daily0

I used to think it was obsessive to weigh everything you eat. But if you want to log accurately and have consistent weight loss, then having a food scale makes life so much easier.

I use one. We've always had one as recipes here (England) always have ingredient amounts in grams. I've no idea how much a 'cup' is.
Although, I wasn't strict with weighing at all when I was losing weight after my 2nd baby (just things like porridge oats, cereal) and I lost 66lbs. I'm using a scale while losing weight after my third baby and losing at exactly the same rate. So either I overestimate calories, or I've got a very good eye for guessing! Using a scale for everything has made zero difference to my weight loss.0 -
I use a food scale when one adds calories in chocolate and cake to make up the numbers but also because it's yummy would hardly say I am on strict diet!! but yes I weigh out portions cereal, veg etc..0

yep use this little bad boy here all the time
I would have no idea whether or not I'm meeting my macros (esp carbs) without it. Eyeballing and guesstimating isnt even remotely close sometimes. everyone should invest in one0 -
I currently use a digital scale! Lovin' your ikea scale!0

i use one as well. digital ones r so much easier than the older ones. pop ur plate on it and then put ur food on it so u can leave the plate and just reset it before each item.a lot quicker to log ur food with it as well.
oh....maybe someone could tell me. when it says cup of something....are we talking cup/saucer size or different like mug? they dont do this whole cup thing in england and in confuses me when having a latte0 -

I use it every day. I've even built all of my recipes with it so I can log my recipes exactly. I also have one that fits in my purse that I can use when out, but I usually don't. I my food scale!0

I don't know what I'd do without my scale. I've had one for years, it gets used constantly.0

At first I'm not going to lie, I thought it was a bit excessive. But now I actually really enjoy it! Holds me even more accountable. My logs are more accurate and when I create recipes I can make the serving count as accurate as possible. I love it!0

I lost my food scale in my latest move. Luckily I remember roughly what servings I used to use!0

I use it for anything I ingest, I even take it with me during business trips. I've checked your diary it is too much close to mine from logging way perspective, you log everything and that's how to succeed. Congrats0

Think its rarer to find who doesnt use one. At least from the successful losers.0

Sure! I use a scale all the time.
I eat quite a bit of loose fruit and veg', so it removes the guess work, which gives me greater confidence in the accuracy of my log and a reassuring sense of control over my CICO.
When it comes to food, I'm a control freak fastidious ...0 -
I think most people who are serious about getting to a healthy weight eventually start weighing their food. I'm not on a strict anything, but I keep a check of my portion sizes with the scale. I've used one for25 years - when I've been up in weight and down.0

Yuppers, I use it all the time and I try to weigh most in grams. Some meats in oz too.0
