Somatypes don't exist and he looks to be putting way too much focus on the small details.0

All of these body types to exist0

Do*0

Nope, invented by a psychologist in the 40s solely for the purpose of attributing certain personality types to people with different bone structure. It never had anything to do with nutrition. He didn't even actually study the people or anything, all he did was look at photographs and make assumptions. Yet here we are.0

As soon as I see somatypes being used I just think "woo".

"Die Begriffe und umsomehr die dahinterstehende Theorie sind aus heutiger Sicht mehr als fragwürdig; wissenschaftlich relevant sind sie nicht."
The terms and even moreso the underlying theory are in today's point of view more than questionable and not scientifically relevant.0 -
What you guys are referring to with these is that the body type had something to do with intellegance. That's just absurd and I don't even understand how that was given thought. But the body time in relation to how it stores fat is something to consider.0

The guy who invented the differentiation between those body types just guessed about that. Basically "Oh, these guys have broader shoulders, I bet it's easier for them to gain muscles."0

OK apart from somatypes..... I just think it's an example of a trainer taking a simple process and making it as complex as possible and therefore irrelevent to 99.9% of the population.

Same. At least his first bullet point was eating less calories than you burn.0

This article has some great information about how your body reacts to certain elements of dieting. It's good to know all of these things affect your body. It might be overly complex to try to tackle all of these things but that doesn't mean the basic information isn't correct. I can't say if the body types has anything to do with any of it though.0

that article is too long - too full of bollox like somatypes so I didn't read
but I did pick up the cutting checklist
"Create a deficit of total calories through either a reduction in dietary calories or an increase in fuel (calorie) usage.
Increase or stabilise anabolic hormones and decrease catabolic hormones.
Increase or maintain protein and nutrient turnover.
Increase the overall metabolic output of the body.
Strategically and periodically increase leptin levels and thyroid output."
which means
eat at a calorie defecit
move more
watch your macros
and if you stall eat at maintenance for a bit and then cut again
not exactly rocket science0 -
