too much protein?

I'm new to all this, so first of all hello everyone! My question is, I've logged all my food for today (including the dinner I haven't eaten yet) and according to MFP I'm going 6g over on protein (all the other parameters are under, including calories, carbs and sugar). My protein sources for today are a serving of 0% greek yogurt, a boiled egg and a tin of tuna. That doesn't seem like very much to me (?) but I'm wondering if I should cut out the egg at dinner, or if too much protein is actually a good thing? (I'm thinking of the Atkins/Scarsdale type diets here.)

You did not have too much protein. In my opinion, the MFP recommendations in the default mode are low especially if calories are severely restricted.

People who have kidney impairments should monitor their protein very closely. As long as your kidneys are working appropriately, I don't think there is too much to worry about with going over by 6G of protein.

You're good. A lot of people look at the protein/fat macros as minimums to hit.

The more protein I eat, the better I feel and the more weight I loose. I aim for 100 grams a day.

I agree with QuilterInVA, I usually try and hit between 100 - 120 per day. I actually changed my value on MFP to show my alternate protein goal :)

I shoot for at least 160 grams of protein a day. You're good.

Think of protein as a minimum.
