I am 60 years old and need to lose 50 pounds, not very coordinated and was wondering if I could still do Tai Chi? Does it help lose weight? What are some good videos that are for the VERY beginner.
Thanks for your help
Jean.

I think one can do anything they set their mind to.
Might have to start out slow and modify a bit at first but, yes, go for it!!
Can probably find videos by googling the subject and or youtube.com

Thanks for your help. I know I will have to go slow but it looks so relaxing and I think I would enjoy it.0

I take tai-chi through the Recreation Centre in my city. I highly recommend a class with a good instructor over a video, if you have that opportunity. There's a lot to learn about how to do the moves correctly; not just learning the moves themselves.
Tai-chi is very relaxing once you've learned it (not so much while you're learning it; there's a lot to keep in mind). It will help with your flexibility and core muscles but probably not for weight loss. However, everything helps a little bit and tai-chi is fun.
Go for it. It's worth it.0 -
I love Tai chi and learned first through exercise tapes, Scott Cole has a few that are wonderful and fun! Classes are good but can get expensive. Enjoy!0
