If you're trying to bulk by gaining muscle, which is the most ideal way to do it, you need to make sure you're getting lots of protein. So you'd want meat with your meals, protein shakes, eggs, jerky, etc. Fats are the easiest way to get extra calories since there are 9 calories for every gram of fat as opposed to 4 calories for every gram of protein or carbohydrates. Calories from fats could come from olive oil, butter, creamy salad dressings, mayonnaise, etc. There are plenty of foods that are mostly fat and protein, of course: peanut butter, nuts like almonds, cheese, etc.0

It's not about a particular food...you have to eat a surplus of calories. I would recommend getting around 1 gram of protein per Lb of LBM and rounding out the rest of your calories with whatever will help you hit your calorie goals. Get yourself on a good lifting program.0

Whatever foods consistently get you into a surplus. Lots of people who bulk rely on high-calorie, low-volume foods like nut butters, cheese, olive oil, whole milk, ice cream, pop tarts, etc., because it's difficult to eat at a surplus every single day. You can only eat so much chicken and broccoli before you explode.0

go to the gaining forum and check out the sticky there…
i will say the type of food does not matter you just need to get yourself into a surplus, but that does not give you license to eat 100% ice cream (lets knock that straw man down now)…what it does meant is that you can eat bagels, ice cream, pasta, etc; along with chicken, rice, vegetables, steak, fish etc..just hit your macro/micro/calorie targets…
also, you want to get about 40% of your calories from carbs…
oh and make sure you are on a structured lifting program where you lift progressively heavier things...0 -
GOMAD aka gallon of whole milk a day is pretty damn effective.0
