I am so tempted right now....

To get off of work and go out to eat. To get something greasy, fattening and unhealthy; even if it means it will make my stomach hurt, or make me sorrowed later on in regret. I have been thinking about food all day long. its my weakness. I purposely left my purse in the car so I would not buy junk food at work. why does this have to be so hard?? I have to do this, I must do this b/c no one else is going to do this for me. its not just to look good, but to feel good. This is for my health.. but I am craving that food, lots of it. I want bbq ribs, or chicken wings, or cheesecake.. just the delicious stuff that got me here in the first place. God I hope this feeling passes.

Yep, I get it. Is there anything that's not greasy, fattening, and unhealthy that you would enjoy? Try to think of something.0

Are you letting yourself get too hungry? I crave the "bad" foods when I've gone to long between meals/snacks.0

There's always portion control... and being able to buy what you want and have SOME every once in a while. And there's always making your own as well... When I want fried wings, I'll make them... 1) it's cheaper than going to a restaurant, and 2) you control how they're cooked (how much oil to use, the flavor you want to use on the wings, etc...) so you can even make it healthier than a restaurant's. That way I won't suffer while I'm losing weight.

Think about what you're specifically craving, then look for a recipe online that has less calories.0

eat a healthy snack to curb the hunger.0

Can you go out and get something greasy and unhealthy that's still within your calorie goals?
I usually "eat in", but when I want something that I know isn't necessarily going to win the Good Housekeeping Seal of Fabulous Health, I have it anyway. Within my calorie goals.

This exactly.
Do you like strawberry cheesecake? There is a recipe for cheesecake stuffed strawberries that is awesome. You take 4 oz lowfat cream cheese mix with 2 Tlbs powdered sugar,1/2 tsp vanilla. Wash 23 large strawberries, cut tops off. You may need to hollow out some of strawberry. Stuff with cream cheese mixture, using 1 Tlbs crushed graham cracker crumbs sprinkle on stuffed strawberries. 20 calories per strawberry. If making ahead, don't sprinkle with graham crackers or they will get soggy.
Buffalo wild wings makes naked chicken tenders. They are chicken breasts but with the hot sauce of your choice.
Or have a smaller portion, but pair it with healthier things. If you used to get wings and fries, get a salad and a smaller portion of wings, etc. You got this!!!0 -

I crave these foods when I am tired or when I have been way under on my calorie goal for several days in a row. Otherwise, I try to work a burger, pizza, or other foods like this into my calorie goal once a week or so.0

I ended up reading your messages, going home and making spaghetti with whole grain noodles. It was delicious and I am full. I went over my calories but I will exercise before the night ends. I feel so good I didn't not go out. I think I'm waiting too long between meals to eat. Thabks guys. I would not have done this without the help.0

Just checking in to see how it's going? I find having a dinner plan is huge for me. I need to know what I am eating for success otherwise I panic and eat crap. I actually plan my meals the night before so I know what I am eating the next day.0

OP, are you just starting out? I think a lot of people have these issues in the beginning out of the sheer weight on your mind of the knowledge that you are *OMG restricted begin pannicking now eat all you can because you never will again!* - I know it's not what we consciously think, but I believe it's what a lot of us subconsciously feel at first.
The good news is it passes very quickly if you just stick with it a few days and especially with each new craving you successfully tackle, like you did today. That one victory is money in the bank, psychologically speaking, because the next time you feel like that you'll know you successfully overcame it before. You started well, keep it going!0 -
Some people can get by just fine eating their 2-3 meals a day; others feel better when they spread out their calories a bit more.
I like to snack, and I don't like to eat a huge breakfast. So I end up having a couple hundred calories for breakfast, a snack between breakfast and lunch, another couple hundred at lunch, a snack or two in the afternoon, and then something a bit bigger for dinner.
I get the craving for something greasy and delicious, too. Usually I give it a few days to see if it sticks around. If it does, I plan accordingly and work it in to my calories for a particular day - lowering what I eat throughout the day, maybe working out a bit more - and I go enjoy what I want.
There is nothing wrong with giving in to a craving - and no food is "bad" for you unless it's in excess. Or, if you're like me and know you have a tough time eating "just one" of something.
Good for you coming home and making something yummy. You've got this!
