loosing weight and gaining muscle same time YES or NO

Hi,
I am new to body building. Joined a gym exactly three months ago.
During first and second month focussed a lot on cardio and mixed it with light weight training. Two hours everyday (90 mins HIIT cardio and 30 mins weight training). Sunday off.
Third month started lifting heavy weights and I liked the way my upper body changed after lifting heavy with high repetitions(1 hour lifting half an hour cardio). Total workout time around 90-120 minutes.
The day I started my weight was 84 kg. Currently I weigh 77 kg.
My goal is to have my body weight around 65-68 kilos as I am 165 cm tall, 32 years old.
Should I shift my focus back to cardio unless I come down to 68 kg weight or continue doing what I did during my third month.
I am on calorie deficit. Eating only 1500 calories per day.
Please advise.
