Amanda. Newbie and confused

Hi everyone!

Background on me: I'm 5'2, I've always been a little chubby since I was young and my height definitely doesn't help as my weight gain shows so easily even when I gain a pound or 2. I'm very prone to stress eating, and there was a time when I went into a terrible cycle of non stop binge purging for almost 6 months. To a point where I thought it was going to go on forever! Thankfully I finally found the courage to tell my dad about my problems.

I'm now a month in to no binge and purging hooray! =)
Anyways back to the problem, since I've finally FINALLY convinced myself that hell no purging is not the way to go, I've had problems with portion control, as sometimes I just can't find control in me and go "OK LAST ONE!! I PROMISE!" , then takes another banana..or two to eat. I've gained about 3 kgs so far (due to alot of holidays B) ) , and I'm finally putting my foot down. I want to lose weight, healthily of course. I eat quite healthily I'd say, but my problem would be in the portion department, as well as my serial snacking habits. For example I could eat a whole bag of dried apricots or 2 eggs then 3 bananas and a bag of grapes! I've not eaten bread/ white rice for 2 years and I'm hoping to rectify my fear for those carbohydrate foods as well =)

My idea to lose weight now would be to do cardio 5 days a week as well as abit of resistance training. I run at 10kmh for roughly half an hour and do light weights. So far so good!

Right now my goal would be to go from 52kg to 48kg (normal weight) and I would like to ask all you fit community for some tips on eating healthily (portion control as well as regularity of meals) so I can lose this stubborn love handles. HELP ME! Please? Haha, thank you!

Congratulations for making an amazing step on the road to recovery

You need a team behind you ...you might just do it with willpower but a team of ED professionals can really help you find a healthy mindset

    Good luck

Way to go gurl!! The first step to loose weight is to know how much your calorie requirements is for the day to maintain your weight. There are many calorie calculators on line. The second step is to create a deficiency eat less than needed. Be aware that to loose a .5kg a week will need a 700 calories/day or 3500 calories/week deficeincy.
Good luck, do not hesitate contacting me for additional questions of for clarifications.

Are you a qualified ED specialist? If not you shouldn't be giving advice to someone hoping to recover from an ED @melendfi‌

    Thank you so much @melendfi!

    Question to all:
Also does regularity of meals affect your metabolism or what matters is the number of calories you consume in a day?
