Hey. Weigh in day today. I'm down 7 lbs in 7 weeks ( well technically 9 weeks but I took 2 weeks off of exercising/ logging following my dads death and then re-started where I left off so I'm saying 7).

Anyhow. I'm following strong curves, on week 7 of beginner program, which I do 3x week; other 3 days I do CX works ( 30 min core- planks, tube work, squats, super, side crunches- high reps cardio ish) with 20 minutes of cardio intervals.
For the most part-90% I have been sticking to MFP calorie range ( 1560- set at 1 lb loss a week sedentary) and sometimes eat 1/2 my exercise cals back. Once a week my calories are close to the 1900's.

I'm wondering if I should set my cals to lose 1.5-2 lbs a week for quicker weight loss or add in more cardio or just go with this slooooow loss. I am going to remeasure my self sometime this weekend as well to see my inches lost.

Opinions?

Slow loss helps retain skin elasticity.

A pound a week isn't 'slow'. It's a good rate of loss which is more likely to be sustainable.

1lb a week isn't slow, it's what's recommended. Anything more than that is if you have a lot of weight to lose. If your ticker on your profile is correct and you have 30lbs to lose, you should be aiming for 1lb a week. Anything more than that would be potentially unhealthy. And when you get near to your goal it should be even less, about 0.5lbs a week.

With the amount you want to lose, a pound a week is right where you should be. Congratulations!

Sorry for your loss. One pound a week is a great rate of loss. Stick with it. Congratulations on your 7 pounds gone!

It actually sounds right on target. I'd keep doing what you're doing--sounds like a healthy rate of loss. Congrats!

No such thing as losing weight "too slow" - even if you are losing it slowly - you're losing more than someone sitting on the couch!

Slow for what? This isn't really a race to the finish. The way I see it, if you lost a pound a week, by the end of the year you'll have lost 52 pounds. That's ALOT of weight. That being said, there will be weeks where you might not lose a pound at all, or even gain slightly. Keep doing what you're doing and don't rush it. You're doing great!

Your profile says that you have about 30 lbs to lose, so I would say that for you, a pound a week is fabulous. You should be very proud of yourself!
