Ladies with long hair?

I get up early to work out each morning. I try to push my self and most mornings I end up sweating a lot. My question is what do ladies with long hair do with their hair after working out? I don't have time for a full shower to wash my hair and then blow it dry. Does anyone use a dry shampoo? Do they work? If so can you recommend one?

I have long hair and usually I work out in the afternoons. but if I have to go somewhere after working out, I blow dry my hair and do a pony tail, messy bun, or some kind of up-do. Usually my hair is oily looking so that is the reason for the up-do. I have tried a dry shampoo and I don't like the way it looks and feels0

I have hair almost to my butt. I use a redken dry shampoo from my stylist. The generic ones you can buy at most drug stores leave a weird powder substance in my hair, the one I get from my hair girl does not do this and I love it. And I agree with the above poster about just throwing it in an up do, or just throw a hat on0

I use the Dove dry shampoo, it helps...if it's after a really big workout I still have to put my hair up or use a headband to push it back, otherwise it's a tangled mess0

I occasionally use the Herbal Essences dry shampoo to make my hair less gross before going out, but I feel better if I wash my hair, dry it as much as possible, and then put it up - braid, bun, whatever. My hair is usually still damp when I take it down again, but at least I don't feel itchy and sweaty all day. If you google "styles for wet hair", you get a bunch of suggestions. This might work less well if I lived somewhere cold0

I work out at night so I don't have this issue, but I do like dry shampoos for the days I can't wash my hair. Not sure how into hair care products you are, but I got my dry shampoo at Sephora and I really like it.0

I also got a weird oily-ness from the dry shampoos. I used Treseme.
Now I generally just do some sort of up-do or side braid after work outs. If you're working out in the mornings, I think that's probably all you can do short of a full wash/ dry afterwards.0 -
I usually twist my hair (put it in a bun) and wear a thick (wide) headband so the sweat mainly accumulates around the hairline. My hair is very thin and fine so dry shampoos tend to have the opposite effect on me. I usually just blow dry it real quick after my workout and fix it for the day.0

I usually work out in the evening but for days I don't wash my hair I like dry shampoos. Especially Amika since it's convenient but my fav is actually Principessa Dry Shampoo but it can make a mess in a gym bag (it's powder) so I mostly use it at home.
And if all fails I just put my hair in a ponytail/messy bun. Works fine0 -
I work out in the evenings so I can wash my hair right after a workout if I need to. I only get super sweaty if I do cardio, though. If I just do a weight workout, I can skip washing my hair and wear it in a ponytail the next day.0

Ponytail. I normally have it in a ponytail throughout the day but after my workout, if it's in the morning, then I dry shampoo it with Herbal Essences and put it right back up.0

I'm not a fan of the dry shampoos. If I don't have time to wash my hair, I'll wet a face cloth & wipe my hair down with it, especially around the hairline & top of my head. Then, since it's damp, I'll blow dry & style. It's much faster and looks like I washed it0

I always have my hair up when I workout, and still my hair gets damp from sweat. I'm pretty sure I sweat more than any of the guys that go to the gym lol. This means that I pretty much always shower and wash my hair afterwards. When I am doing something less sweaty (gentle weights, or pilates at home) then I usually just use a dry shampoo, and keep it up after.0

I also have extremely long hair and was reading this, hoping for a solution too
Not to be gross, but I also sweat a ridiculous amount, so my hair is soaked halfway down the length when my workout's over. I'll wash it every other day, but I just let it air dry as I get ready, it would take way too long to dry and style. When I get to work, I'll either put it in a bun or up in a ponytail, but I have not been able to figure out a way to keep "cute hair" and a workout schedule. The hair loses out. Dry shampoo on seriously sweat soaked hair is futile.0 -
I use Batiste dry shampoo if I run in the morning and don't have the time to wash my hair. I have dark hair and Batiste has a dark specific one that I really like.0

I work out in the morning. Then I wash it and braid it.0

I wash and then braid my hair as well, if I have to be somewhere looking presentable. Otherwise, I'll wash, then clip my hair up in a messy bun.
blow drying? ANGTFT0 -

Same here - even the miracle of dry shampoo could do nothing for my post-workout hair0 -
I don't blow dry or style my hair and only get hair cuts that I can do this with. I always wash my hair afterwards but I sweat like a 800 pound linebacker.
At home I have tried the dry shampoo from Lush and liked the results as far as oil absorption and making my hair look "finished" it will probably work with sweaty hair as well.0 -
I have long and very thick and curly hair. When I workout, I put it in two braids and wear a headband. I think it stays ok for the most part.0

I have this problem often. I hate dry shampoo (and so does my stylist) because it causes my hair to dry out really fast, I envy anyone who can use it and still have nice hair!
I just had to suck it up and get up a bit earlier for my morning workouts, but when I am lazy a trick I learned is that it's easiest to just focus drying the front of your hair with a very rough dry for the back then put it in a ponytail/plait. People only tend to take notice of the front and I've never had anyone notice whilst wearing a plait.0 -

Same here, I try not to wash my hair every day so I shower with a cap on and just blow dry & style it normally.

Last year I would run during lunch hour. I used dry shampoo on most days and it worked.

I do the same (my hair's very long, dense and thick, and straight as a board). I workout mornings, so I do two side braids (regular or sometimes French braids--actually, I sleep like this, keeps the tangles away). Perhaps my scalp doesn't get as sweaty as others (or my thick headband absorbs a lot of it, IDK), but I just take out the braids when I'm done, and I have wavy, beach hair for the rest of the day. I don't do blow dryers, ever--and I wash once a week, with water only rinses in between.0 -
I put mine in a single braid in the back before I work out. I also wear a wide head band that catches the sweat, since I can't stand having it drip in my face. I generally work out after work and go home after, so this works.0

I have very long hair and only wash it every other day (I get it bleached so it doesn't get as oily). When I am running, I pull my hair up into a high ponytail so that everything (bangs, stray hairs, etc.) are all off of my face when I run and am sweating. Then I just wash my face, take my hair down, and brush it out/flat iron a little if needed.
I haven't found a dry shampoo that I love yet, but I've used a little cornstarch in a pinch :-)0 -
I like LUSH No Drought Dry Shampoo the best. It lets me wear my hair down after a workout without taking the time to wash, blow-dry and flat-iron it all over again. I just hop in the shower post-workout, keep my hair up and out of the way of the spray, then sprinkle in some LUSH dust and go.0

braid is easy and stylish0

I am a slacker. I wear my hair in a braid daily, and when I take my mid-day exercise class, I just use a bit of water on my flyaways, rebraid, and use baby wipes on the rest of me. I don't have time to do much more than that. (Lunch break is 1 hr, exercise class is 50 minutes).0
-
i just wear it in a ponytail (or updo type thing whatever) and wear a headband with it. after i workout i might (which means usually not but if i have to i will) take a damp towel and wipe my face/forehead/neck but thats about it.
