hi thanks i would not like to think 1300 is maintenence for me i am 5ft 1? surely 1300 calories is not a long term maintainable amount?

I doubt 1300 is your true maintenance. I'm just saying that it's very possible -- despite your best efforts and through no fault of your own -- that you're eating more than 1300 calories right now.

The whole idea behind a deficit is to force our body to burn our stored fat. I don't see why we should be afraid to eat a calorie amount that encourages this, within reason. Obviously we shouldn't starve ourselves because otherwise we may binge and if we literally don't eat anything we won't have the energy to do much of anything.

However, I absolutely do not buy into the starvation mode bit regardless who spouts it. I don't care to argue it but will leave this link which is my favorite because the author uses the word horseshit in the piece: http://www.aworkoutroutine.com/starvation-mode/

Its very possible that you need to add more calories. How long have you been at the 1200-1300 range and what are your macros at now?

    NO
OP, can you open your diary?
