  • Hi! I need motivation and support also. I joined myfitnesspal in 2012 and I haven't logged in very often. Unfortunately each time, my weight has gone up. I NEED to change this. I don't know if we are mentally in the same place. I see I've got more weight to lose than you and I have a desk job so my situation may not match up well with yours. Hopefully some more motivated "losers" will join this message board. I make a pledge to you right now. I'll do something active over the week end and eat sensibly. I'll report back in on Monday. Now to motivate you... make a promise to yourself you'll do something active also. If you are in the area of the US that's still freezing out, go to the mall (leave your credit cards behind) and take a walk. You can spend money after you've dropped a size! Go Girl!

    Look through the groups for 'strive for progress not perfection' and request to join. We are a small group who were all looking for some support and it's really friendly, everyone Spurs each other on :)
  • I made it thru the weekend with great results. Hope you did also. I made a large pot of the old standby, weight watchers vegetable soup and cooked a whole 3 lb bag of chicken breasts. Limited myself (at least for 1 week) to a "no decisions" diet. Breakfast is oatmeal (serving size off the box) with frozen blueberries, soup when ever I wanted, and chicken breast twice during the day. We did eat out once, I got a "Tropical Salmon Salad" at The Freighters. (mixed greens, strawberries, and a wasabi salmon with a tropical fruit salsa.) Very good, just enough food.

    The point of the soup is to eat frequently and never give your body the chance to feel hungry and just think about all of great veggies... Cabbage, carrots, onions, green beans, zucchini, tomatoes and lots of garlic. I used vegetable soup base and salt and pepper, and basil.

    Ongoing, I am limited my food choices to exclude all items that list flour or sugar within the first 5 ingredients. I learned this trick years ago at Overeaters Anonymous. After a week, back when I tried this before, I could notice after a week that I didn't crave sweet foods.

    I lost 5 lbs over the weekend. First week after giving up flour and sugar I usually see a dramatic loss. If I remember correctly, day 5 or 6, I may get a headache as my body adjusts to the wheat withdrawal... We'll see if I stick to it that far...

    I'm trying to remember what the 4 letter word was that my mentor at OA told me to keep in mine. Each letter was for some condition to try to avoid as a food trigger... It might have been FAST. I remember 2 of the letters stood for Stressed and Tired. I thought Hungry was in there, but that doesn't fit in with the word FAST... Anyone ever hear of this?
