Pre/post working nutrition! Help

Really want to start muscle training and need suggestions on proteins/supplements for pre or post workouts. I'm about 150lbs now and would like to replace 15-20 pounds with lean muscle.
What would you recommend that'll give me energy and what they call "gains"? Haha

Just get some quality whey protein. Good ones will be packed with BCAAs. I recommend Promix if you can afford it. The only other supplement worth anything is creatine, but you don't necessarily need it to put on muscle. Just keep your protein intake ~ 1gram per pound of lean body mass. Keep your calories at + 0.5 pounds/week, assess and adjust them every 1-2 weeks if you're not getting the results you want (first know what results you can expect).
It's a good idea to eat some carbs after your workouts to refill your glycogen, it's also an easy way to get calories.0 -

Hit your nutrient goals including 1g of protein per pound of LBM. Don't fret over nutrient timing, it matters MUCH less than your total diet.
