It's normal to fluctuate a pound or two - or five, or sometimes even more - over a day/several days. Don't let it wreck you. Things like sodium intake or a higher-than-normal carb intake, how hydrated you are, when you last pooped, if you've increased intensity in your exercise or started new exercises, and as an added bonus for women, where you are in your menstrual cycle, can all affect those fluctuations (mostly by causing your body to retain water or waste). The sooner you can wrap your head around that and accept fluctuations as normal, the sooner you'll give up the "I could cry" over 3 pounds of water weight fluctuations, and the happier you'll be.0

^ as above. fluctuations are normal. It is better to judge the overall trend you see over several months to see if you are making progress or not.0

shoot, my weight fluctuates around 3 pounds a day.
no biggie. overall trend is what matters.0 -

Maybe you should only weigh once a week. Fluctuations are normal from day to day.0

But yes, fluctations of up to 3-5 lbs are normal for me.0
