I currently have a facebook page that offers support and encouragement for friends that are dieting and exercising. I would like to have this page show under groups here in MFP, in an effort to get more people joined up. Is there a way to do that and still keep it as a private group, so that only the members can see the postings? My goal is to have it show up in facebook and also under groups in MFP.

Posting any links outside of MFP is a violation and could result in a warning etc. etc. Might wanna check out the Community rules to familiarize yourself. :)

To review the forum guidelines, please visit the following link:

You are welcome to advertise your Facebook group in a MyFitnessPal group, just not in the main forums, however since private groups aren't easily discoverable that might not be an effective way to grow your Facebook group.

Yeah thanks for the info. Be just like me to get kicked off the site for breaking the rules!! LOL!! Not really that big of deal, just thought it would be fun to have a combined page with more people. Have a great day!!

According to the rules, it seems that it's totally fine to post links, as long as posting a link wouldn't make you get money (it says "You may not post any links or mentions of other services, websites, or businesses from which you or an associate might benefit financially or otherwise).

Actually, it's not just money. As much of social media is driven by page hits, followers, and word-of-mouth, which benefit the page owner, pretty much any link to social media is prohibited under the guidelines as "might benefit otherwise."
