Hey there. I normally go with oatmeal with protein powder, honey, and cinnamon mixed it. Makes for a good carb base for energy.

What kind of run? I personally wouldn't do anything special for anything less than a 1/2 marathon.

I never eat before I go for a run.. Slows me down... I would think you want something light if you do.. But after a good run... I down a glass of chocolate milk.... Protein!!! Yum!

Always run on empty stomach. The best way to lose weight. All what you need is isotonic drink.

Hey I'm Jeff. Welcome. I do quite a bit of mileage weekly. Before my long runs 10 or more. I eat half a banana washed down by bottle of water with soaked chia seeds, lemon juice & honey. Works for me

i sometimes just eat after a run, but a prerun meal/snack would be anything between oatmeal w/ a little bit of fruit & cinnamon, half a banana w/ pb or just an entire banana if im not feeling the pb and i like to eat toast w/ pb & jam some point after running. sometimes i feel sluggish if i eat before running, so if i do eat it's like 1-1.5 hrs before running. water helps, of course

All depends on length of run and time of day. First thing in the morning - generally nothing (maybe coffee if I need it) for 60 minutes or less, 60-90 minutes definitely coffee and usually a banana, more than 90 minutes I plan ahead for a small meal 2 hours before my run, usually an english muffin with peanut butter or a small tortilla/wrap with cream cheese sliced strawberries and honey.
For afternoon runs if it's been a few hours since I've eaten, I'll do a snack such as a banana, or nutrigrain bar, or graham crackers.
