Almost 50 getting discouraged!

Keeping calories 1200 give or take. Exercise at least 30 min @ 4/5 days a week. I'm getting nowhere! If I eat more calories I gain weight.

    Hi:

    I can not see your food diary so I can not give you any helpful suggestions.
    My personal experience is that in order to lose weight you have to eat at a deficit. Calories burned > calories ingested.
    I have to measure and weigh most of my food. Unfortunately, give or take will be a recipe for failure for me.
    MFP is a good tool. Your target of 1200 calories may be low. Revise your calorie target with a premise of " moderately active" and target weight loss of 1/2 pound a week.
