I was here a couple of years ago...lost lbs.

But it was a "diet"...not a commitment to change.

I had started at 272.5, and got down to 208. I felt great...ran over 22 races, including two half marathons. Then, plantar facitis hit me. My right foot had been showing symptoms for over 8 years...I just never had the thought to get it taken care of or anything like that. So, by the time I addressed it, I had to have surgery. :/

A year before I was able to run or anything and bad nutrition (that whole lack of commitment thing) led to a gain of roughly 25 lbs. Which wasn't horrible....but I could have and should have done something about it.

Then, I was back at it...still not fully committed. Living off of small victories and such. Went to do my second half...which cost a pretty penny (damn Disney), and even though my left foot had been showing signs of PF...ran it anyway. Well, the 13.1 miles sent me over. Went to see the doc and he gave me 6 months to try natural remedies and physical therapy. So, n April of 2014 I had surgery on my left foot.

Late December, I was back up to 246 bs. Unfit, unhealthy and depressed. I thought long and hard. Did I want another "diet"...another year of short term accomplishments and eventual gain back later? NO.

So, for a month I planned and researched and trained my brain to understand that I was making a lifestyle change for the long run...like, till I'm dead kinda long.

By the time January 22nd came around I was down to 242.5 lbs. and had a new mindset.

I changed the way my family ate. Not just where we at (only out once a week now) but how we ate (healthy and nutritious food). They are having a much rougher time of the change...poor guys. They'll thank me one day! :)

I started "Insanity"...heavily modified...

Today, I am 34 days in, 18 lbs. down, and 10.5" smaller. I'm feeling great and am taking better care of myself than I EVER thought possible.

Even with a bought of Step Throat (which I've NEVER had in my life....and DANG it hit me HARD) I'm still going. :)

Feel free to add me as a friend!! I have very little support and all of my friends have moved out of the area!! I love to chat and keep others motivated!

Trish
