Hi everyone, I've been using mfp for just over 3wks and thought it time to say Hello :)
I'm 36 yrs old, married with 3 children. I had heart surgery in 2004 to fix a hole they found when I was pregnant with my little girl (my first child).
I'm desperate to lose the excess weight as I want to be healthy so I can be the best Mum I can be, and of course I want to be around to see my Grandchildren too.
I've tried numerous diets and all seem to work for the first few weeks and then phase out. I decided, with many others I'm sure that new year was the new start.
THIS TIME I'M DOING IT RIGHT!
I have taken up walking and I am tracking EVERYTHING. I've lost 21lbs since new year :) I can't back out as I've signed up for 2 long distance walks, a 25k & a 50k this summer to raise money for a special needs centre that we use (my youngest little boy has mobility issues).
So this time it's the real deal... 21lbs down... 63lbs to go!
I look forward to sharing my journey with you all.
Helen x

That's great, I feel the same - I have a 2 and a half year old son And want to get in shape to have the energy to play and be active with him.
My job is desk based and I'm quite sedentary most of the day.
My weight has been gradually increasing for the past 4 years, and it was only looking at his birthday photos that I realised I have to make the change now.
I've lost 19lbs since January and have 17 to go.
    We can do this.
