    I'm afraid to listen to that thread, for fear of being disappointed. Several years ago I was in a group of mmo gamers and we used to play all the time. We chatted through in-game text and did battle together, built some cool friendships. Man, I thought all those guys were so cool. I guess I had certain expectations of what they were like in real life, because they were all so awesome online... Well, for one big battle we all decided we were gonna get on microphones and speak instead of using text like normal. Horrible idea. The voices were so wrong.

    Like the high-pitched squeaky 11 year old voice on a guy I had always imagined as a valiant baritone. One lady had a hardcore smoker voice (complete with raspy on-going cough) and I could hardly understand what she was saying. Another guy had a super annoying, super frequent cackle. The worst was the guy who screamed and panicked constantly "OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG!!!" in the ugliest, most freaked out voice. Ironic, since he always seemed so confident and smooth off mic. Another one threw tantrums and argued with his wife in the background. It was all so awful. Nobody's voice fit their characters and it was a total let down for me. So I made up some lie about not being able to plug into the mic anymore, and I just went back to the text speak.

    So I just want to stay in my MFP fantasy land where everyone has the perfect voice. o:)

    I haven't been disappointed at all while also having no one to disappoint. I admit at first I thought at first it was just going to be silly and go nowhere. I was very wrong. So I recommend it.
