Time for a change or should I stick to the plan longer?

I have started logging in consistently 4 weeks ago. I am aiming for a manageable weight loss of 1 lb per week, especially since I am still breastfeeding my 14 month old (quite a bit) and I don't want to have to stop yet. I exercise 3-4 times a week more intensely and walk most of the other days. In the first two weeks, I thought things were going great, I dropped from 162 to 158.5 lbs. Since then (the past two weeks), my weight has been between 159-160 and doesn't budge. Should I stick to the same calorie intake? Reduce it a bit? I honestly feel a little better and my body fat% appears to have dropped by 2%. I use a body Fat scale, knowing it isn't accurate in absolute, but it should be OK to use it for comparisons at the same time. Is that even possible to drop 2% in body fat without losing a lot more weight?

Sounds to me that you should stick to it a bit longer. Are you taking body measurements as well? Weight on the scale and body fat % on a scale are going to fluctuate ALOT.
Also, if you open your food diary we can probably help a little more.0 -
No, no measurements. I will do that, great thinking! It is a little discouraging, but I am trying not to go much more extreme and be starving the entire time and lose my milk. As is, I am a hungry a few times a day and have to really use caution to pick something reasonably healthy to work with my day's calories. I am eating the breastfeeding calories (I only deduct 250) and part of my exercise calories most days (sometimes none).
I will wait 2 more weeks following the same plan and hope something shows some progress!0 -
Are you using a food scale?0

I agree with sticking with it. With me, if I experience a pretty good loss, my body will then hold steady for a week or two, then let go of more. Stay consistent for a few weeks at a time so you can see what really works for you rather than switching up all the time and not really knowing whether the weight went because of the switchup or because it was going to happen anyway...KWIM?0

No, just measuring cups and typically log 25% more than I measured on dry items, since I know you can underestimate it. I see that many here use a food scale. Maybe I have to do invest in one. Seems pretty time consuming...but maybe you get used to it.0

I opened my diary..I think I did at least.0

Once you get used to the food scale it doesnt take long and it is almost second nature.0

You were all right. The scale finally moved down that after almost 2.5 weeks. One lb, but still that makes me think I should keep doing what I am and be patient! Thanks!!0
