Classes: I live and learn

I have thought that I knew what pilates was about, have tried on and off throughout the years, with a few different instructors at different gyms, including some really specialised (and expensive) pilates studios and was convinced (1) it is boring and (2) is not that challenging for someone who is already in more or less good shape.
My physiotherapist recommended I take up pilates for a while as a good way to recover from an injury and I very reluctantly agreed to it.
I had yesterday my first class, and I felt my core and legs work more than they ever did in any other strength training activity, including weight lifting and TRX classes. I am impressed at the difference a really good instructor can make. And at Planet Fitness from all places!
Lesson learned: Keep an open mind and never look down at any physical activity, you never know what will pleasantly surprise you!

    Couldn't agree more
I've done pilates on and off again for years. I quite liked it but never really understood the core concept.
I started pilates again 4 weeks ago. Two classes a week at the physiotherapists office. 6 people per class. The instructor who is also a physiotherapist wouldn't let me move onto the first position until I had "achieved core position"
Wowee I never knew it was doing it wrong until then! I can already feel a difference in my posture and yayyyyyy I'm losing my mummy pouch!!!!!!!!! Best class ever!!!!
