Feel like i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place

I joined MFP last May to help me lose a stone/ 14 pounds and reached that goal the start of February with eating about 1400 - losing about 0.5 pounds a week.

I changed my goal to lose another half stone / 7 pounds as I'm not really happy with my body yet - particularly my mid section
I'm unsure weather I should keep going with what I'm doing or if I need to change things up a bit as I've been stuck at the same weight now for about 6 weeks.
I got to the gym 2 or 3 times a week when I get chance but it's mainly cardio work as honestly I hate doing any kind of strength training, plus I'm a little scared to really push myself after injurying (and then re-injurying) my back a year or two ago.
I tired lowing my calories but lasted all of about two days at 1230!

just wondered if anyone had any advise? I'm aware I can't spot reduce before people start blarting on about that.
My diary is open (or should be at least!) if it helps.
I'm 22, 5'4 and currently 140 pounds / 10 stone.

Your at a good healthy weight but understand that you don't feel finished yet. Have you thought about strength training to start body composition? That may give you closer to the body your aiming for.

It's normal to get plateaus and as frustrating as it is sometimes the only thing to do is wait it out

you said you hate strength training and whilst it isn't a must your path is going to be so much harder without it

can't you get a trainer to help show you proper form and try again

you're at a body recomposition stage and you need musculature to give you that toned, slim look - it's a small cut / at maintenance and progressive weight training

your logging has to be spot on

I found yoga (especially hot yoga) helped with body recomposition for me; plus it's great for the spine (if you have proper supervision).

If you're only doing cardio and dislike strength training (by which I assume you mean lifting weights) - consider HIIT (high intensity interval training) or Tabata training (http://www.active.com/fitness/articles/what-is-tabata-training) to shake up your gym routine a bit and get you out of your rut.

Try resistance training using your body. There are a number do free programmes. I like nerd fitness.
Pilates, yoga, Zumba Toning would help as well. Belly dancing is great for activating the core muscles.
Once you have a little more strength you may find you would like to try heavy( for you) , progressive lifting.

    Cheers, h.

another vote for trying yoga or pilates or something along those lines if you don't like lifting - sounds like you need to work on re-comp as apposed to losing weight.

Body weight resistance exercise. Keep your goal at .5 pound a week. Yes, it is going to be slow, but that is just the way it is.
