what is the best weights to lift for a woman to tone and sculpt arms without making them bigger?

I want to get rid of a little flab underneath my arms but don't want to end up with Bodybuilder arms!

I have bought 3 sets of weights: 1.1kg, 2.3kg and 4.5kg.

Which would be the best to use to tone?

Thanks!

I'll let someone who does more lifting that I give you advice about actual upper body workouts, but Ill point out something.

The concept of "toning" is a myth. You can't just pick an area of your body and do a work out and lose weight from that area. You can build muscle in an area but your body will burn fat from all over.

Secondly, you will NOT end up looking like the female Arnie unless you spend a huge amount of time eating tonnes of food and lifting massive weights.

Honestly, unless you are very young (like 10) or have a disability, start with the 4.5 kg weights, return the rest. Either buy adjustable dumbbells, or invest in something like 5 kg, 7.5 kg and 10 kg as a beginner. As for ending with bodybuilder arms, it would take very serious weights, serious time invested at the gym, and upping your calories to gain muscle, it will not happen by accident.

You loose fat in a standard and conventional way but need muscle to fill the flap with otherwise it will always remain a flap.... triceps are the ones you want to hit with more emphasis on the inner parts - dips, triceps extensions & skull crusher will soon be your best friends!

nope, no .. sorry but no

to get toned arms you need to eat in a defecit and progressive weight train as you do it

lose fat and lift heavy - heavy means heavy as you can and then heavier next time

I'd also recommend compound lifts (to work the whole body) rather than just isolating arms

the weights you have are far too light - they might suit you for a few weeks though

    good luck
