Hi everyone,

Just wanting some advice on nutrition. I'm trying to lose some fat, I'm 5"4 and weigh 62kg. I strength train and do circuits 4x a week.

The calculator on here seems to think I should be eating 150g carbs, 40g fat, 60g protein in 1200 calories. Shouldn't my protein be higher than carbs?

Thanks.

Everything seems rather low starting form the number of calories.
Is this what works for you or keyed in somewhere and 1200 calories came up?
You need food to fuel your workouts...

There's something wrong with those numbers indeed. There's no way in the world that you could weight 62kg and workout 3-5 times a week and only need 1200 calories. I would say you need to check those numbers again.

Concerning the carbs and protein ratio for fat loss, personally I would recommend something like 45% protein, 30% carbs and 25% fat. Good luck!
  • I did think it was low, it's what I got from entering details on the calculator on here, but it doesn't take into account workouts/strength training etc.

Thanks, I thought protein should be higher!

protein is low just like carbs are.... just my opinion but on your stats i'd shoot for 1600 calories as a starting point and evaluate from there 2 to 4 weeks down the line!
  • Thanks guys I'll go for 1600 with 45/30/25 and see how I get on
