pre workout fuel

Just wondering what people are eating pre-work out to fuel there bodies. I realize many have protein shakes but is anyone eating certain combinations and finding great results and not being gased 1/2 thru your workout? any help or tips will be appreciated!

    Coffee is all I use. Eat a regular breakfast at 8:30-9am and workout out at 11:30-12. Drink coffee all morning.
