Best Smoothies with total calories in the ballpark of 300-400?

Hi there,

I've been doing the same boring smoothies for the past 6 weeks (Almond Milk, various frozen fruit and protein powder), and I'm looking to switch things up for some added excitement to my meal plan.

Any good shake ideas out there that you would like to share?

Do you ever use plain nonfat greek yogurt in your smoothies? Excellent protein source and it makes them super creamy. I also sometimes add avocado, almond (or other nut) butter, chia seeds, ground flax, raw spinach and kale. I am trying to have two smoothies a day for a few weeks to boost my weight loss and then I'll probably go down to one a day so I understand trying to keep things exciting.

Some of my favorites (so far):

    TROPICAL MORNING
    1/2 cup nonfat greek yogurt
    1/2 cup pineapple
    1/2 cup mango
    1 banana
    1 cup raw spinach
    2 tbsp ground flax
water to thin/ help blend if necessary

    PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY
    1/2 cup nonfat greek yogurt
    1 cup strawberries
    1/2 banana
2 tsp almond (or other nut) butter

    ANTIOXIDANT
    1 cup mixed frozen berries
    1/2 cup nonfat greek yogurt
    1/2 cup almond milk
    1/2 tbsp chia seeds

    FLAT BELLY
    1/2 cup nonfat greek yogurt
1 tbsp almond (or other nut) butter
    1/2 cup blueberries
    1/2 cup pineapple
1 cup raw kale (stems removed)
    3/4 cup water

    PEACHY GREEN
    1/2 cub almond milk
    1/2 cup peaches
    1/2 cup pineapple
    1/2 banana
    1 cup raw kale/spinach
    1 tbsp ground flax

    PUMPKIN PIE
    1 cup canned pumpkin
    1 banana
    1 cup almond milk
    2 medjool dates (pit removed)
    1/4 tsp vanilla extract
    1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

What protein powder do you use? I looked at quest but haven't bought any yet. Trying to find one that doesn't pack too many calories per scoop.

    Good luck!

    These sound amazing!

No I haven't tried the Greek Yogurt. However, I will be adding this in for sure. As for the protein powder, I have Whey. It's about 130 cals per scoop, 28g's of protein, and 6 grams of carbs.

    Thanks again!

So this is my standard, and you can prep these ahead of time. Cubed apples tossed in lemon juice will keep for about 4 days before they start to get slimey.

    85g baby spinach
20g kale (this seems to be the magic number for me, any more and it gets bitter)
    100g cucumber
30g frozen sliced strawberries or blueberries
175-200g gala or envy apple (the ones I buy usually fall into this range
    1 Tbs chia seeds
¾ cup liquid (I usually use water but have used green tea and coconut waters)

Total is about 250 calories. Not a whole lot of protein in this but I love vegetables. I have added some unjury unflavored protein powder before and that only adds 90 calories.

Watermelon - 3 cups watermelon, 2-3 juiced lemons, 1 cup blueberries - I blend up the fruit, freeze it, and then you can add yogurt after you thaw and blend up in the blender. I sometimes add in some chia seeds, too.

without the yogurt, if you add the 1 Tb chia, a pinch of salt, and a cup of water, it's actually nearly a perfectly balanced electrolyte drink, too.

I use iced green tea in my smoothies. I used to use yogurt or almond milk-- one day I ran out of both at work so I just threw in some iced green tea. It's great, adds antioxidants and a little caffeine boost and you'd never know it was green tea in there.

My favorite is chocolate whey protein, fresh strawberries and bananas, and iced green tea.
