Best exercises during TV commercials?

What are the most effective exercises to do in the 4-5 minute advertisement breaks on tv? I have been doing jumping jacks, press-ups, and crunches. My goals are increased strength as well as weight loss.

Squats, lunges, pushups, planks, reverse crunches, high knees, burpees, and mountain climbers could be some options for you. If you have a kettlebell you could do kb swings and other strength exercises. Hand held weights could be another option, bicep curls, skull crushers, renegade rows, tricep kickbacks are just a few exercises that I can think of that you could do with some weights. Hope this helps. Jumping rope to get the heart rate up, or act like you are jumping rope if you don't have the room.
I know some people that will do one exercise for each commercial and then switch to a new exercise for the next commercial and repeat this throughout the show they are watching.0 -
When I am a hotel and watching tv, I use a deck of cards to pick an exercise. I have a little cheat sheet with several groups of four exercises, each one being one of the suits. The number of the card equals the reps I have to do. So 10 of spades might mean 10 burpees. Joker is rest. Gotta love the joker.0

Fast food commercials = burpees
Car commercial = mountain climbers
Clothing commercials = jumping jacks
Local news commercials = squat jumps
Pop/energy drink commercials = plank
Food commercials = high knees
Everything else = crunches0 -

I think it'd be more effective to keep your heart rate up so maybe do something intense like burpees or mountain climbers etc and during the show March or jog in place.0

Ding! Ding! Ding! You win! I love this!!!
I have usually pick up my dumb bells and work my arms. Your idea is so good It reminds me of the SNL interview skit when everyone starts dancing.0 -
It's great until all there is is fast food commercials!! Lol0

Burpees!! Or push-ups if you have trouble resisting the lure of ads on TV. If you are facing the floor, you can't get tempted by that new car, electronic gadget, or fast food. Hahaha0

Burpees get my vote. Second, if it is a hit show (like the voice), you should try to do hollow holds during a commercial set.0

Skip the crunches. Just focus on keeping your core (abs) tight/flexed while performing compound moves like squats, lunges (front, back, side), push-ups (even if done on your knees), mountain climbers and planks (regular and side).0

I am going to post some Zuzana videos. Seriously intense and REALLY awesome. Plus she's easy on the eyes.

She has a TON of these. She also has challenges where she does a 1-2 minute exercise and you she posts a video asking for people to do more than her. It's on bodyrock.tv
In any case, you can do a TON in a short amount of time, just make it intense!0 -
Do people really do this? Consistently?0
