Food Scale?

Hello all, I just bought a food scale. For cooked foods should I be weighing them before or after cooking? Does this answer vary between meats, veggies, and pasta?

For most, if not all things (unless specifically stated on the package or from websites like this: http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search), it will be the precooked weight.
