Blending dates - help!

Found a recipe I love for raw brownies which is mainly blended medjool dates, all well and good. Except for the second time I made them using my hand blender, the blender started smelling of burnt plastic and smoke came out of it - ooops :-(

I now realise that blending dates with a hand blender was not the best idea and I might be better off with a food processor instead. Has anyone got one they'd recommend? I'm based in the UK and don't want to spend a fortune...

Thank you! x

I've done recipes with dates in my blender, and it's been challenging at times as well. I've found it helpful to soak the dates in water is helpful. I've also added a bit of almond milk to the recipe, and it's helped ease the blending/chopping as well.

I pretty much never use my big food processor. I have a mini processor that wasn't too expensive here. Maybe they have an option like that in the UK as well. I've used it for dates several times as well as other things that can be tricky to chop and it's lasted me a couple years now.

Usually a little water helps blend them nicely. I usually use a food processor though too.
