Can't decide between Nike+ or Map My Run. Which do you use?

Personally, I like Nike but I haven't used Map My Run. I have used Runkeeper and more recently Runtastic. I mostly use the latter for tracking walking or hiking and other activities, and use Nike for my running - I like the goals within the app (various levels, earn NikeFuel), and the ranking among my friends each month, of who has the most miles and the most runs. Also has ability to track shoe mileage, which is nice.

If you use an iPhone, consider RunMeter. It's awesome!

The dominant players in the market at the moment:

Endomondo - Now owned by the same parent as MFP, so we might see better integration in future. I personally find this to be the best as the analytical and historic tools are good.

Runkeeper - Solid, but a walled garden, integration with other apps isn't great but it has a small ecosystem.

Strave - A bit hardcore, and good from a competitive perspective with segments and groups. Limited wider functionality.

Runtastic - solid but I found it a bit of a battery hog, it killed my phone in fairly short order.

MapMyFitness - Also owned by the same parent as MFP and endomondo, however Endomondo was a more recent acquisition which suggests that one or other might be retired. I find the website usability to be very poor and had persistent upload problems in the past.

I use runkeeper, and have looked at a lot of other apps. After almost deleting it again I finally figured out how to add custom runs, and now it's doing exactly what I expect. I don't need an integration with MFP or other things anyway, neither too comprehensive stats. Plus, compared to Endomondo it doesn't add ads and I haven't found out how to add custom workouts/intervals in the free version.

Strava, for me. Big community. Best use of maps, for my needs/pleasure.
