Ok, so this is a petty question, and the only reason I am even asking it is because I am bored at work. I was looking up calories for oranges and clementines today, a medium sized orange is 70 calories from what I can find...but I small clementine (Halo is what I buy), which is like almost a quarter of the size of an orange is 40? How can that be? enlighten me please ;-)

My guesses would be: 1. Is 'medium' sized the MFP serving? I have noticed what is a medium for me could be a small or large for one of the MFP entries. Especially with stupid bananas 2. Maybe because it's a slightly different variety with different nutrients?

I'd look at the size in grams. From the Cuties website, a serving is one clementine (74 grams) at 40 calories. A navel orange at 100 grams is 49 calories.0

I eat Cuties all the time and they usually weigh between 68-99 grams after peeling. 100 grams would be a very small navel orange, imo.0

I've been eating mandarins at 40cal each. They seem much sweeter than an orange. Extra sugar calories?0
