I just thought i'd take a peek in this forum and want to say I lifted for the first time today. I've been walking like crazy and loving the "burn" and just the overall "feel good" from exerting my body. I've read posts on one of the other forums of some saying "Lift heavy things" and I finally got it in me to do it. I wasn't sure I would ever even be interested (i've always been impressed and a bit intimidated by it). My husband lift's daily. He has a (not sure the names or terms) nautalis Golds gym type machine (where you put in pins to add weight) that I tried butterflies, legs, bench press, pulls. I could not manage one butterfly on the machine, but the rest I could do a set of ten with no weight and 2 reps each (hubbies teaching me terms, set, reps, rep, sets that's gonna take time to learn) I could do some things with some weight and some with just the weight that uses no pin. Hubby said it's like 10 lbs or something. But because I could not manage to budge out one butterfly, he had me do it with 2, 10 lb free weights. I could not lift very high, but managed to squeeze out 9:) It took about 15 minutes to do or so, don't remember. I need to ask him. He's finishing up his daily routine now. But I must say, wow, I feel it and can see why it's worth it to start. I know I will feel this tomorrow and can't wait to have hubby "spot and train" me again:)
