FitBit Charge HR has data on it fresh out of box?

Hello!
I just unpackaged my new FitBit Charge HR. I haven't worn it yet. As soon as it finished charging and syncing, there was already data loaded onto it. Just over 2000 steps, 1.8km, and nearly 1100 calories burned?
Did anyone else have this happen? Do I really have to wait until midnight to begin tracking?
Help!

I have had mine a couple weeks now but don't remember if it showed anything.
Have your done the setup in fitbit site?
This may be a default setting. You might give it a couple days.
No, you don't have to wait till midnight. It may reset after your info is input.0 -
My Charge HR was zeroed on the first charge. It did count up a ton of steps that first day that I didn't actually do, though, so I maybe they just take a little time to calibrate themselves?0

Not sure about the steps, however the calories burned will be off today. It's going to estimate what you might have done from midnight up until the point you started using it. Also, the calorie burn data will always reflect BMR calories from midnight to whenever you look at it. So don't be surprised when you wake up with a calorie burn in the morning.0

Why do they do this?! No fun when it says things have been achieved when in reality they haven't?!

Well, your BMR is always going to be achieved. That's the calories your body burns at rest without activity. Mines in the 1400's and daily activity adds to that. From what I've seen in the past, they only give you a couple hundred to account for your daily activity for the time from midnight till when you set it up. It will vary depending on how far away from midnight you are, someone who sets up in the morning will probably only get 100-200 to account for their morning activity that the fitbit tracker couldn't track and someone who sets up around dinner time might see an extra of closer to 500 or more. After the setup day, you will get your BMR + tracked activity.
Now as for the steps your tracker picked up, if you just got up then those might be off. If it's later in the day however, you probably have actually walked that many steps. You would have to be pretty sedentary not to. I got around 1400 steps just getting ready to go to the gym this morning. I don't however, know exactly where the steps your tracker picked up came from

Well I have called customer support and told them about the issue. They guided me to note those steps as driving (considering I hadn't even put it on yet). Support told me that everything should automatically reset to 0 by 12am, if not to call them back. I'm on night shift schedule this week so we'll see! I'm super excited to start wearing my new gadget!!!
Thanks for all the info, see you in the fitbit community!

I had a little data on there, but I just deleted it then wore it to bed the first night after charging. It had several hours of sleep recorded, I thought it was funny0
