When I add cardio exercises the app will calculate calories burned. But not when I add strength training exercises. Why not and how can I estimate my calories burned because it throws off my daily net?

From the MFP help section ....

Add them under cardio - search strength training - but you don't burn much with strength training anyway.0

Not compared to cardio, the burn is indeed not as much, don't be disappointed, it still counts, and it'll transform the body more than cardio.
Also, use the right entry.
Strength Training for those sets and rests 2-4 min and reps from 5 - 15.
Circuit training for reps over 15 and rests up to 1 min, and several circuits.
Calisthenics if using body weight and reps around 20 and brief rests.
You burn more on the lower, because it's closer to cardio.0 -
Thanks to all. Very good info. Only my second day using the app.0
