Should logging records count if you don't log meals?

I see people who have logged in for 300+ days, but if I look at the diary, it's empty, for at least 2 weeks. Should this really be a thing to be proud of? I think the system should account for that if you don't log at least 1 meal or exercise, it doesn't count.
I also think you should have 48 hours to fill in days. Sometimes, when I travel, I may not have internet access for a weekend (hunting trip, etc).

Thoughts?

I do agree that MFP should add some info as to how long you have logged in for in the last 50 days say or 100......if you miss one day logging you start at 0 again........so looks like your a shite logger.....it should say 5 days in a row (logged in 49 out of last 50 days) then you can see if someone is a good logger or not....

I would also like to see a eaten under goal for 50 out of last 60 days for instance on your log posts too.....see if the log for the day says under....but that's only 3 out of 50 then no likies....if over one day but under 50 out of70 then still get a like...(sort of thing)

It's technically only counting the days you log into the website. There's no surefire way to count days they logged food, because you could log a diet coke and it would count.

It's really just a number. I shut down the autopost of days logged in since it is irrelevant to dedication or progress.

Why shouldn't it count. I mean I lost a good 40 Lbs keeping a diary and then I went to maintenance and easily maintained that weight without logging for over a year and a half...why should that awesomeness not count?

I'm only logging now because I did a bulk cycle and now I need to cut...when I go back into maintenance I won't log anymore.

It is possible to be awesome and not log and IMO, logging is just a training tool...it's kind of like training wheels on a bike; at some point you should just be able to ride.

It's a reward for visiting the website, that's it. I don't see that as being awesome.

I don't log all of my food anymore, because I eat the same thing every single day. If I do something different I may add it up, might not close it out. I did log my food for the first 8 months every single day. Maybe that could be why the high log in days, but low logging for diaries?
