I only eat in restaurants, how to keep the diet?

I only eat in restaurants and I find hard to know the right combination and what I should eat or avoid....

    You eat every single meal ever in restaurants? That sounds expensive!

    Do you do chain restaurants, or locally owned non-chains mainly? (Chain restaurants almost always have their menu with nutrition info online. You can check out the calories before you go and figure out what will fit into your daily calorie target!)

    You can start asking for half of your meals to be packed up. That way, you reduce your portion (and calories), and can eat the leftovers later (saving money!).

    You can also spend some time learning about calories, if you never have. Having an idea of what foods are more caloric is really helpful in knowing what to order. A burger with one patty and mushrooms and onions and gravy would likely be better than a burger with two patties and cheese and bacon and mayo. By quite a bit.

    You can avoid dipping sauces. Ask for things like salad dressing on the side. Don't get appetizers. Only add extras if they are veggies/fruits (like tomato).

    Subway has some great options, if you're up for that.

    Breakfast menus are sometimes not too bad, actually.

    Try to avoid drinking your calories. Meaning, get a glass of water, or diet soda. Tea or coffee if you can drink it black or with very little added. No juice, milkshakes, sugary soda, milk, chocolate milk, iced tea, etc. Avoid whipped cream.

    And honestly, if you're always eating out, you may not be able to "treat yourself" as often as other people. Because you kind of always are. So you'll have to say no to the really caloric stuff more often, I would imagine.

    Try healthier restaurants (Subway), or restaurants with healthier choices, instead of going to a McDonalds (If you consider that a restaurant). I don't normally got to restaurants, but when I do I try to go to some place "healthy" such as Olive Garden or eat Thai food. My best advice...try to learn to cook at least one day at home! Hope this helps.
