i rarely ate dinner before going on mfp, although i did snack, and probably ate more calories. i have reduced my sugar intake also. I have gained a pound this week since doing mfp. is that normal for someone who now eats 3 meals a day? my excercise routine has stayed the same. i work out about 4x a week, which is what i've done consistently

How are you tracking your calories? Are you weighing your food? The most obvious answer is that you're eating more than you think.
Meal timing has no effect on weight loss - it is all about the calorie deficit. If your calorie goal is 1500 calories a day, it will make no difference if you eat one 1500 calorie meal or 3 500 calorie meals.0 -
Are you in a caloric deficit? Your ticker says you only want to lose four pounds? Normal daily fluctuations can be up to 5 pounds.0
