What is the difference in losing inches and pounds?

Pounds are weight on a scale. May be water, food in your stomach, the content of your bowels... Go up and down constantly.
Inches measure the circumference of your body and although they could reflect bloating, and also food etc (your waist/stomach measurements), are a much better indicator that you're losing fat. Also they don't tend to fluctuate so much over time (again, except stomach and waist circumference). Particularly, as you track both pounds and inches over time, if you are losing inches faster than pounds, it means that (relatively speaking) you are losing more fat than muscle (fat being of a larger volume for equal weight).
