I personally use it ever time I get ready to do a show. It works well for me. I like to switch it up week by week, so my body wont adjust to it. I will alternate each day High Carb and Low Carb. On the following week. I go 2 days High Carb and 1 Day low carb. It helps me maintain as much muscle as possible while droping fat. It is important to still get all your nutrients and hit your macros when doing so.

I did it for about 8 weeks last year and it does work, but I found it was affecting my mood. My baby was only 4 months old and I was exhausted anyway, so it probably wasn't the best time to do it.

I tend to eat lowish carb anyway, but I really missed having an apple as an evening snack.

You do have to eat higher fats to compensate for the lower carbs.

Hi. I am carb cycling and I am finally losing. I really like it and it is pretty easy. I like being able to say I can have this tomarrow and its real I y cut down on cravings or cheating for me. I eat 5× a day so I am never hungry. It does take time adjusting and body adjusting. And if you feel foggy on lc days just eat more fats. It helps me to be able to eat what my family is eating every couple days too and having a free day to eat whatever. I have never done something so easy. But you do at the end of a 3 week cycle have to do a slingshot week which is a hc week to keep the body guessing.

So do you have a break from the low carb after every 3 weeks? I should've done that. Now my baby's a bit older I might try it again. I made low carb meals for everyone and still do really, things like chicken and fish with veg. I do a jacket potato for my kids, or they have a slice of bread and butter with it. Most of my carbs come from fruit, yogurt etc, it's the starchy carbs I try to limit now. Obviously when I did the carb cycling I didn't have fruit or yogurt.

When I did it I didn't really go lower than about 70g a day. I'm not doing it now and the highest I usually go is about 130. My diary is open so feel free to look. I did the carb cycling in Sept/Oct last year.

Do you find the carb cycling throws in a lot of water retention?

Each week, I have two very low carb days, two semi-low carb days, and three higher carb, but low fat days. My spouse and I previously tried to do all low carb, but it really affected our moods. I am very happy with this pattern as I can look forward to my rice and fruit on the higher days and the scale has had a pretty good trip downward.
