C25K after ankle surgery

This might be a silly question, but I've never done C25K before because I was always a pretty good runner until I got told to stop a few months ago because of an ankle problem. It's now been almost 5 weeks since my ankle surgery, and I was wondering if this would be a good program to start to ease my foot back into running.

Last time I had an injury, when I went back to running I did 2-3 miles at a time and sustained a sprained tendon. I definitely don't want to do that this time because I want to get back to running obstacle races.

tl;dr-- is C25K a good program to use after ankle surgery to ease back into running?

Thanks. :flowerforyou:

I think this is a question for your surgeon; we don't know what ankle condition you have, why you were advised to stop running, what surgery you had, or whether you are cleared to resume all activity.

When your MD clears you to start running again, yes - in your place, I'd probably start with couch to 5k or any intervals actually. Again, though, your doctor knows best what activity you can handle at this stage in your recovery.

Good luck! I had a serious ankle surgery 5 years ago after badly breaking both ankle bones and I never thought I'd be able to run. Training for a half marathon this fall :)
